Video Streaming FAQ: How to Take a Video Streaming Course
Finding the launch page
- Go to the Distance Learning web page Click on Course Offerings
- Select VS Launch Pages (under the Find a Course heading)
- Select the semester for your course
- Find your course in the listing
- Click on the course prefix and number, i.e FIN 331
- This will launch a pop-up web page and ask for username/password
- Enter you ODU MIDAS account username and password
- You have now entered the launch page
What is a launch page?
A launch page is a web page that has links to start ("launch") the live video stream for a particular class period or its archive. The launch page will provide you the ability to interact the instructor and other students who are video streaming the course.
What do I put in when it asks me for my username/password?
This is your ODU MIDAS account information, If you don't have an ODU MIDAS account go to the MIDAS web page.
My user name and password does not work
Be sure you are using your ODU MIDAS user name and not another account accidentally. Your ODU MIDAS user name is the part of your Old Dominion student email address before the @. Example: jwill003
The password is your ODU MIDAS Account password. Your user name should be all lower case letters. Passwords are case sensitive so be sure to use upper and lower case letters accordingly.
If your user name and password does not allow you access to the launch page, but you can still access your email, contact the OCCS Technical Support Center.
