NANCY COOLEY NAMED TO SECRETARY OF TECHNOLOGY'S BROADBAND ROUNDTABLE
Nancy J. Cooley, vice provost for distance learning at Old Dominion University, was appointed by Virginia Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra to the Commonwealth's Broadband Roundtable. The group, which is charged with developing a last-mile telecommunications "blueprint," for advancing Governor Kaine's goal of ensuring broadband access for every Virginia business, is comprised of highly experienced telecommunications executives and practitioners from academia, industry, and the public sector. Old Dominion University Launches Master of Public Health, Track in Environmental Health
Beginning in fall 2007 semester, Old Dominion University is offering a Master of Public Health (MPH) with specialty in environmental health. The program will be available on ODU's main campus in Norfolk, Va., and will be offered at particular ODU sites at a distance. Tennessee, West Virginia Residents Within 50 Miles of Old Dominion University Sites Eligible for In-state Virginia Tuition
Recent legislation enacted by the Commonwealth of Virginia permits Tennessee and West Virginia residents living within a 50-mile radius of Old Dominion University to pay Virginia in-state rates. Old Dominion University offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs at sites near the borders of Tennessee and West Virginia. [more] June 18, 2007

Old Dominion Distance Learning Student Recognized for "Excellence"
Roberta Paisley, of Troutdale, Va., a student in the Interdisciplinary Studies: Teacher Preparation for PK-6 baccalaureate program at Old Dominion University's Distance Learning Site at Wytheville Community College, recently received an ETS Recognition of Excellence certificate for her outstanding performance on the Praxis II - Elementary Education: Content Knowledge test. Paisley's exceptional performance on the test ranked within the top 15% of all test takers of the Praxis II assessment in recent years. ODU Nursing Graduates Post Highest Licensure Pass Rate
