On-Campus Navy College BSET CD-ROM Students:
Guidelines and Responsibilities
1. Contact your instructor if you have questions about your readiness to take each test. On-campus students who are taking CD-ROM Navy College courses may arrange to take their examinations at the Learning Assessment Lab in the Gornto Teletechnet Center. Check the Lab's procedures, schedule, and availability at www.clt.odu.edu/lal. Currently, Navy College CD-ROM students who are on campus and wish to schedule their examinations at the LAL during open availability times on Saturdays can do so by completing the LAL's request form at http://www.clt.odu.edu/lal/lal_student_makeup_request_form.php. Requests must be approved by the Lab Manager. Navy College students who request and receive approval to take their test(s) there will be notified by email to their ODU accounts. You will need to present an ODU ID Card to a Lab staff member prior to beginning the exam. After completing the test, let your instructor and Navy College test coordinator, Dr. Bill Gideon (wgideon@odu.edu) know it is available for pickup at the Lab.
2. All Navy College CD-ROM students must complete a Proctor Request Form and return it to Military Distance Learning before their exams can be sent to the Learning Assessment Lab or other approved testing site.
3. Before sending your Proctor Request Form, please print "Gornto LAL" and the date/time you plan to take your first exam for each course on the blank bottom portion of the form.
4. Complete and fax the proctor form to 757-683-3106 or 757-683-6329. You can also mail the form to:
Old Dominion University
Military Distance Learning
Gornto TELETECHNET Center, 4th Floor
Norfolk, VA 23529-0614
Please allow at least three working days from receipt of the Proctor Request Form at MDL to placement of the exams into the Lab's facilities. When the proctor form is received and processed, all exams for the course will be forwarded to the Lab. If you include your current email address on the form, we will acknowledge by return email the receipt of your proctor request and placement of your exams.
5. For questions related to exam content or grading, please contact your instructor. If you have questions about exam distribution or receipt of proctor forms, contact Dr. William Gideon (wgideon@odu.edu) at 683-6105. For questions concerning the Learning Assessment Lab, contact the Lab Manager at 683-3170. For any remaining concerns, please contact Dr. Rob Curry (rcurry@odu.edu) at 683-5658.
